The swim assessment will be on Saturday, 20 September 2025, following training at Lake Albert. It will be at the OASIS Swim Centre starting at 10am. A lane has not been booked as there is a cost, however it is pretty easy to get a lane for swimming on a Saturday morning.

The annual swim assessment is required by DBNSW. Assessment involves:

1. Swim 50m in any stroke, in usual paddling clothes, including shoes. No time limit.
2. Tread water for 3 minutes following the swim.

Some members swim assessment expire on 20/9/25, and others have not ever undertaken the test. Those who did the test in February 25 may choose whether to do it at this time as the validation lasts for 12 months from the date it was undertaken.

Members who do not undertake the assessment or do not meet the requirements must wear a PFD at all times on the water, at training, in regattas and on-water events.
